Storm damage minimal; flooding evident

Sunday’s storm didn’t knock down as many tree limbs in the area as past storms this summer did, but flooding is heavy in many areas.

Rockwell and Wilson are particularly bad, and neighbors were teaming up to wade through several inches of water to clear out debris from storm drains at that intersection. Most cars drove through slowly, attempting not to splash volunteers. See 60625′s video below of clean-up efforts and flood levels.

Western Ave and Leland, a common spot for flooding, appeared to be less affected than usual, although cars still proceeded with caution at that intersection.

Taken just before the storms began, around noon Sunday.
